  • Now in its eighth year, the Kuits NRB Top Fifty is an exciting power list of the North’s most significant and influential hospitality operators. The list features big names and rising stars, including six new entries and two re-entries, and covers 212 brands, 1527 sites and over 22,840 employees, demonstrating the strength of the region’s hospitality scene.

  • Finalists announced for Northern Restaurant & Bar 2019’s national cocktail competition, sponsored by Ms Better’s Bitters, with the chance to win a VIP visit to Canada with guest shifts in Vancouver and Montreal.

  • A survey of opening and closures rate in The Core Cities Group, plus London and Edinburgh, has shown that the food and drink scene in Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds city centres has increased by an average of over 19%, whilst London recorded barely a third of that growth. In addition, London’s rate of restaurant and bar closures over the last year, at 14%, is the second highest in the entire study.

  • Sheffield born Jason Atherton is one of the UK’s most successful global restaurateurs and will headline this year’s Bruntwood NRB Debate at Northern Restaurant & Bar on Tuesday 19 March 2019. Jason, who was head chef at Manchester’s legendary Mash & Air in the ‘90s, has built a global restaurant empire that now includes sixteen restaurants, four of which have Michelin stars, across three continents, seven countries and eight cities.

  • The Kuits NRB Top Fifty is now inviting nominations from the most significant hospitality operators in the North. The final list, selected by an expert judging panel, will be announced at Northern Restaurant & Bar 2019 on 19 March.
