Hospitality show announces tasty line-up

The North’s leading hospitality showcase, Northern Restaurant & Bar, returns to Manchester Central for its 11th year from 12 to 13 March 2012.

The two day show will welcome trade-only exhibitors and visitors including brewers, hoteliers, publicans, catering suppliers, chefs, restaurateurs and bartenders from across the north of England. As well as being a hotspot for hospitality networking, Northern Restaurant & Bar will stage chef demonstrations, tutored tastings, cocktail shows and fine food displays.

Organisers of this year’s event will also be announcing the inaugural ‘NRB Top 50’ list. The list, which has been chosen by a panel of judges made up of industry experts, will honour 50 individuals from influential operators in the north of England. Those on the list will be chosen based on their successes, achievements and their impact on the northern hospitality industry. All those on the NRB Top 50 list will be invited to a reception held on Monday 12 March at Manchester Central.

For bartenders looking to learn new techniques and skills, the Liquor Theatre will be the drinks hub of the show. The Liquorists has also teamed up with Edinburgh’s Bon Vivants Companion to run the Liquor Shop, the show’s very first store selling cocktail tools and equipment, literature, glassware and a selection of fine spirits, liqueurs and bitters.

Northern Restaurant & Bar’s event director, Andy Clayfield, said: “This year’s show is all about celebrating success in the region and showcasing the achievements, skills and innovations of those taking part. From tutored tastings and cooking demonstrations to one-to-one support and advice from our experts, exhibitors and visitors alike will have the opportunity to grow and develop their trade.”
